Gold and its benefits

Gold a treasure for our skin

Gold is a unique mineral, known for its biocompatibility with the human body. It is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. Gold has long been used in medicine for dental crowns, pacemakers, surgical tools, and wound care.

The benefits of gold on our skin

Gold has multiple antioxidant and antibacterial properties that help fight premature aging of the skin. Its ability to penetrate deep into the epidermis helps to stimulate the production of collagen which, in turn, maintains the firmness and elasticity of our skin, reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

It stimulates the skin's metabolism, improves blood circulation, and protects cells from free radical damage.

Thanks to its antibacterial properties, inflammation, acne and allergic reactions are greatly reduced. One of the best effects of gold in skin care is that it makes our complexion radiant, glowing, and fresh.

Study

In 2017, MAKANAI sponsored the study "The evaluation of gold flakes affecting skin fibroblast cells" at Kanazawa University Graduate School of Medical, Pharmaceutical, and Health Sciences.

Fibroblasts are the most common connective tissue cells for elasticity in young skin. The results showed that gold leaf helps to increase the production of normal human dermal fibroblasts (NHDF) by up to 137% compared to the control group.

The most optimal way to benefit from gold is to use it in the form of gold leaf. Gold leaf is made from 24-karat gold, the only gold suitable for food since its purity level is always over 99.99%.

In modern manufacturing, gold leaf is made using a roller press that produces leaf refined to a thickness of 1/10,000 millimeters. The material is so fine that it can disintegrate like a fine powder between our fingers.

Kanazawa, the birth place of gold leaf
