Elemense : l’encens japonais rĂ©inventĂ© par l’art du parfum

Nippon Kodo, a house founded in the 16th century and guardian of centuries-old expertise in the art of incense, created the Elemense line to meet today’s sensibilities. Inspired by the philosophy of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water), this collection conveys Japan’s heritage in a contemporary approach, where incense becomes an object of culture and refinement for our modern interiors.

top, heart and base notes

Traditional Japanese incense is a subtle art, inherited from Kƍdƍ, the way of incense. Elemense follows this tradition but offers a new vision: each fragrance is not only a scent, but also an emotional atmosphere, an inner climate that influences our energy and state of mind.

Nippon Kodo here combines the expertise of master incense makers with that of contemporary perfumers, creating compositions that unfold like a modern perfume, with top, heart and base notes.

The five Elemense fragrances

Each creation reflects an element, carrying a specific energy, and each fragrance can be chosen according to the desired state: to energize, soothe, balance or nurture the spirit.

Suou (Wood)

Notes: lily of the valley, oak moss, amber, sandalwood.
A woody and green scent, symbolizing vitality and renewal.

Kiyobi (Fire)

Notes: hinoki, cedar, sandalwood, agarwood.
Warm and radiant, it stimulates clarity, energy and inner strength.

Nukubai (Earth)

Notes: vanilla, tobacco, patchouli, sandalwood.
Enveloping and deep, it brings warmth and comfort, like a nurturing earth.

Sekishin (Metal)

Notes: pink pepper, immortelle, cistus, agarwood.
Lively and mineral, it is a scent of balance and contained strength.

Tetsukon (Water)

Notes: bergamot, violet, cedar, agarwood.
Fresh and fluid, it embodies the calm and fluidity of water.

A complete sensory experience

Elemense goes beyond incense. The collection includes brass incense holders, ceramic or stone diffusers, and fragrance oils. These objects with minimalist and architectural design express one intention: to bring incense into the world of contemporary lifestyle.

Thus, Elemense becomes a ritual that combines the traditional gesture with a modern aesthetic, perfectly integrated into our interiors.
