Exfoliation: The Key to the Japanese Glow

| 2 min read

In the Japanese tradition of layering, exfoliation plays an essential role. This step, crucial for the health and beauty of the skin, gently eliminates dead cells that dull the complexion and clog pores.

The stratum corneum: a daily challenge

Despite our regular cleansing efforts, a thin layer of dead skin, known as the stratum corneum, naturally forms on the surface of our skin. Besides its dull appearance, this layer clogs the pores and limits the effectiveness of the treatments applied. That's where exfoliation comes in, gently but effectively, to remove those impurities and reveal the glowing skin underneath.

Japanese exfoliants offer an exceptional care experience, respecting the criteria of quality and reliability. These products, from Japanese beauty secrets, are designed to meet the needs specific to facial skin, providing radiance and softness after each use.

An essential care ritual

Exfoliation is much more than a simple beauty procedure: it is an essential care ritual. By stimulating cell renewal, it promotes skin regeneration and reduces the risk of imperfections. This practice, anchored in Asian cosmetics, is a fundamental pillar of any complete and effective skincare routine.

Find your perfect exfoliant

At the house of Bijo; Paris, we offer a high-end selection of Japanese exfoliants and care accessories.

It is important to understand the differences between enzymatic and physical methods to choose the one that best suits our skin type.

Enzymatic exfoliation uses natural enzymes to gently dissolve dead cells, ideal for sensitive skin.

Physical exfoliation uses granular particles or brushes to mechanically remove dead skin cells. It works by rubbing the surface of the skin to dislodge impurities and promote cell renewal.

The benefits of enzymatic exfoliation are its gentleness on the skin and its non-irritating nature. It is particularly suitable for sensitive skin and can be used daily. However, its action may be slower compared to physical exfoliation.

On the other hand, thephysical exfoliation offers immediate and effective action, ideal for visibly removing dead skin cells. However, it can sometimes be a little irritating, especially if used too frequently or with excessive pressure.

IPSUM ALII
Skin Refining Gel

When applied to the skin, the gel texture transforms into a film which attracts dead cells and excess sebum. It must then be gently massaged to discover its rubbery appearance, typical of Japanese exfoliants.

This technology makes it an alternative that is both gentle and effective. It contains a unique blend of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory Kampo herbs that penetrate the skin upon massage to
calm irritation, even out and brighten the complexion.
