November 4, 2022 - Opening of Biën; in Paris

Biën; opened its doors as a pioneering concept store dedicated to Japanese beauty, design, and lifestyle in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Co-founded by Keiko Suyama and Sadaharu Hoshino, this unique space aims to create a bridge between Japanese aesthetics and Parisian taste. Located in a historic building near the Odéon Theatre, Biën; is designed around the concepts of Bi (beauty) and ën (connection and space). The layout respects yin and yang: the left side, “yin,” is dedicated to Japanese arts and craftsmanship, while the right side, “yang,” features beauty and wellness products.

A central bar made of Japanese cypress, developed in collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto’s More Trees organization, offers tea tastings and personalized consultations. The mezzanine hosts workshops on techniques such as furoshiki wrapping and self-massage, reinforcing Biën;'s commitment to sharing Japanese wellness practices.

July 2023 - Bijo; Beauty Studio at Institut du Bon Marché

The Bijo; Beauty Studio, inspired by Japanese tea salons, opened within Bon Marché, offering a multi-sensory beauty experience based on the “Five Senses of Japan”. Services are divided into “Bijo; Daily,” quick treatments such as express lifting, scalp massage, and makeup sessions, and “Bijo; Signature,” treatments that combine traditional techniques with high-tech Japanese beauty tools. The Beauty Studio has become a sought-after destination for Parisians to experience the meticulous art of Japanese self-care.
